Paul has trained many elite sports groups and his individual clients have become World, National and State Champions. His outstanding reputation in sports psychology has led to training with a wide range of corporate clients, stretching from Melbourne to Maroochydore. He now specializes in keynote speeches, seminars, workshops and retreats.
His debut book, 'How To Have An Outstanding Life' hit bookstores in 2005. Published by New Holland, it's packed with mind stretching exercises, and can be easily read by anyone from 15 to 105 years old. Paul will teach you a wide variety of skills to beat that disgusting S-word: stress. You'll also learn how champions quickly switch on the right side of the brain to tap into a huge source of mental strengths. Techniques such as self-hypnosis, cue words, affirmations and body anchors have helped Paul's clients with relaxation, concentration, confidence, commitment and even solving problems more creatively. You'll discover how to heal yourself physically, from headaches to shoulder reconstructions. Above all, Paul wrote this book to share the best possible ways to inoculate ourselves against depression.
Paul's book is more than a self-help book because he'll prove that outstanding success comes from helping others to have more success in their lives - success for your clients, customers, colleagues, team-mates, patients, students, friends and loved ones. The list is endless. Paul's book has become so popular he was interviewed for Qantas in-flight radio, speaking to nearly two million passengers.
You can now find Paul's latest book, '1001 Questions To Change Your Life' in bookstores all around Australia and New Zealand. It was reviewed in the 2007 Winter issue of GQ magazine: 'Get some helpful self-help. A set of succinct, thoughtful answers to quandaries such as "Can you be as passionate as Marge and Homer Simpson?" from Australian psychologist Paul Smith. The result is a thinking-man's life bible, packed with wit, wisdom and pop-culture quotes and references'.
Paul has been interviewed for television programs such as Today Tonight and SBS Sport and is regularly asked to comment in major newspapers about the mental side of success. He writes a weekly column for the Illawarra Mercury and is a guest lecturer in high performance psychology at Wollongong University.
Paul is passionate about helping young people as he regularly presents seminars to students and teachers in high schools and colleges.
Whether Paul is giving a 30-minute keynote speech for a conference or a 7-hour workshop, his passion and communication skills always grab his audiences. Paul has also built a strong reputation in corporate reviews. He has developed an impressive range of psychological questionnaires and provides detailed feedback to ensure greater success for organizations as well as individuals.
In all of Paul's speeches, seminars and workshops, he sets out to activate his clients to help them reach even higher levels of success. His driving belief is "Be outstanding!"
